Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), or Process Hazard Evaluation, is a set of organized and systematic assessments of the potential hazards associated with an industrial process. A PHA provides information intended to assist managers and employees in making decisions for improving safety.
PHA is required for the EPA’s risk management program and OSHA’s process safety management standard. According to both the EPA and OSHA, all facilities need to apply PHA to determine fire and explosion hazards of specific operations and their impact and safety related to employees, the public and the environment.
